DSCI Data Mining Challenge

DSCI 2018 Data Science challenge is a competition for students, doctors and professionals in Data Science. The task is to predict the parsite infestation incidence within fish in Tunisia. Two parasite’s species are studied here the Anisakis sp and the Hysterothylacium. 

 

The purpose of the challenge is to propose efficient prediction model for predicting the parasite infestation incidence within fish for the last semester of 2017. The data set was collected by two tunisen veterinerian Dr. Mosbah Amine and Dr. Raouf Dhaouadi during the fishing seasons from 2015 to 2017. 

  

A special session in the DSCI 2018 is devoted to the competition to be held at the symposium. The finalists are asked to present their models and to make demonstration of their work.

Schedule

  • November 19, 2018: Start of the competition, training data becomes available,

  • December 13, 2018: Deadline for submitting a first report of at most 5 pages. (data preprocessing, data entichement, data description, model)

  • December 17, 2018 : Deadline for sending the reports, codes end of the competition,

  • December 19, 2018: publication of the final results, sending invitations to finalists to present their solutions at the conference.
